A series of earthquakes shakes southern Leyte

TACLOPAN CITY – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Vivolex) said that a series of earthquakes rocked the southern province of Leyte on Wednesday afternoon.

No damages were reported.

Afternoon earthquakes have hotbeds in the municipalities of Silago, Hinundayan and Hinonangan.

The Silago earthquake, which occurred at 12:08 pm, hit its highest level at 4.1.

Phivolcs monitoring showed that the earthquake was felt in Silago at intensity 4, in the cities of San Juan, Anhaoan, Henonangan, and Hinundayan at intensity 3; the city of Palu, Leyte in the second intensity; and Surigao in the first intensity.

Another earthquake was felt in Silago at 2:14 pm. With volume 2.1.

The cities of Hinonangan and Hinondayans were also rocked by noon last day.

Earthquakes occurred around the same time at 12:07 pm, and their magnitude was 1.7 and 2.0, respectively.

Meanwhile, a series of tremors were felt in Hinunangan.

The first tremor was observed at 12:08 pm. 3.5, followed by another 2.4 earthquake at 12:21 pm.

The last earthquake in the city occurred at 12:33 pm. It has a size of 2.1.
