Prime Minister Boris Johnson and husband and wife Carrie Symonds have announced the birth of their son.

A spokesman for the prime minister and his partner said both mother and baby were doing “very well”.

“The Prime Minister and Mrs Symonds are pleased to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy in a London hospital,” he added.

“PM and Mrs Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team.”
