The Conservatives are aiming to win an 86-vote majority in the general election, according to BBC, ITV and Sky News.

A poll of UK voters suggests the Tories will get 368 MPs, 50 more than in the 2017 election, when all results have been counted.

The works would get 191, Lib Dems 13, the Brexit party and SNP 55.

In the first seat they claimed, the Conservatives took Blyth Valley from the north-east of England from Labor.
