Coronavirus: more than 26,000 deaths in new official figures – BBC News
Recent official data show that 26,097 people have died after being positive for coronaviruses in the UK. The figures are for death care at home and in the community. They show that the pandemic has had nearly 4,000 more lives than recorded under the previous system.
The figures highlight the devastating impact of the virus on care in the UK. In Scotland more than half of those killed by coronavirus are in nursing homes.
