30 million Americans have filed for unemployment since mid-March

First-time claims for unemployment benefits totaled $ 3.8 million in the week ended April 25, after seasonal adjustments were taken into account, the U.S. Department of Labor reported. The adjustments were about 300,000 claims.

According to the latest data, for the first time the number of claims has risen to 30.3 million in the last six weeks – approximately 18.6% of the US workforce. CNN’s Christine Roman and Julia Chatterley explained.
