Coronavirus: Medical staff say the fight for tests has exceeded 100,000 targets – BBC News

The government says it got 100,000 tests every day from coronary arteries. Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the figures for more than 120,000 tests have yet to be sent to 40,000 kits that have not been used.

However, some primary care doctors have said they are still struggling to get into the tests and critics have called the government a target.

Meanwhile, new figures have revealed that people living in deprived places in England and Wales are more than twice as likely to die in areas where they die from coronavirus infection.

BBC News Reeta Chakrabarti has presented reports from Health Editor Hugh Pym and Social Affairs Correspondent Michael Buchanan.
