New toast on Kenei's murder: The Standard

Detectives investigating the murder of a police officer attached to the vice president's office identified nine people of interest.
But police have yet to determine if Vice President William Ruto will be interviewed following the murder of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei, who escorted suspects in a fake $ 39 billion arms deal shillings in the office of the Harambee annex of the PDD.
Dr. Ruto said that Kenei had been killed as part of a scheme to slander his office.
Sources said the officers, led by those from the Homicide and Serious Crimes units, have already identified nine people with whom they are likely to be spoken.
The head of the homicide unit, Martin Nyuguto, refused to discuss the details of those of interest.
"We cannot discuss such details at this time, please. Leave it for now, "he said.
When asked if the DP could be among the interviewees, Mr. Nyuguto replied that he did not know.

Those likely to be interviewed include staff from the PDD office, those from a telecommunications company, and colleagues from Kenei.
Detectives concluded that Kenei had been drugged and murdered by people he probably knew. He could have been murdered elsewhere and his body abandoned in his house where he was found on February 20.
Kenei was buried Saturday at his home in Nakuru. Ruto attended the funeral and said that Kenei had been murdered by people to fix it.
