ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said on Monday that lack of association between academia, experts and government in previous regimes had hampered adaptation measures to the country's climate change.
Speaking to the Global Development Workshop organized by research organizations based in the UK here, she said that researchers, experts and environmentalists had produced no convincing research on the increase in disaster risks and the impacts of climate change on the region.
Zartaj said that, in previous governments, there had been less attention to supporting innovative ideas and research to prevent the country from the serious impacts of global warming. If there was a researcher for this purpose, then government departments were the least interested in promoting such inventions. "
