North Korea’s Kim orders military to ‘stabilize’ drug supply amid Covid blast

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un led an urgent meeting of the Politburo and ordered the military to be used to stabilize the supply of medicine in Pyongyang as the country struggles with its first confirmed Covid-19 blast, state media reported on Monday. .

Kim ordered the “strong forces” of the army medical corps to be deployed to “immediately stabilize the supply of medicines in the city of Pyongyang.”

The KCNA also reported that Kim visited pharmacies located near the Taedong River in Pyongyang to learn about the supply and sale of medicines.

Kim said pharmacies are not well equipped to perform their functions smoothly, there are no suitable areas for storing medicines other than showcases and vendors were not equipped with proper sanitary clothing.
