Have your say on the Jean Marie River/Redknife River projects
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is inviting residents to provide feedback on two highway infrastructure projects: the replacement of the Jean Marie River Bridge and the removal of existing culverts and the construction of a new bridge over the Redknife River.
The Jean Marie River Bridge located on Highway 1 approximately 65 km south of Fort Simpson requires replacement as it is reaching the end of its life cycle.
Removal of the existing culverts and construction of the new bridge on the Redknife River located on Highway 1 approximately 181 kilometers southeast of Fort Simpson will restore fish passage for migratory species. This initiative is the result of a unique and mutually beneficial partnership between the GNWT and the Gahcho Ku Mine and is part of a larger initiative to improve creek and river highway crossings throughout the NWT highway system.
