Duterte for all nations: Reject war, eliminate nuclear weapons

Nuclear weapons will not make the world a freer, stronger, and safer place, President Duterte said Monday at a meeting of nations to reject war and eliminate such weapons.

The president issued a call for peace in his message marking the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan.

Seventy-five years ago, the world learned that the full power of nuclear weapons was finally released to the people of Hiroshima. That defining moment in history documented and revealed in great detail came with a grim suffering, crippling pain and horrible tales. Today, we recall the lessons of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: No goal, though lofty, can justify destroying weapons with such unforgivable brutality, he said.

We must not forget: Nuclear weapons will not make us cheaper, stronger or safer. We must not waver, he added.

Duterte has urged all nations to reject war and do everything possible to pave the way for peace. We must be determined. All nations must work together to eliminate nuclear weapons, he said.

A uranium bomb was dropped by the United States on the city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 in the final stages of World War II. Killed about 140,000 people in Hiroshima. Three days later, a plutonium bomb was dropped on Nagasaki that left more than 70,000 people dead. In the following years, many survivors suffered health illnesses due to radiation.

Seven decades later, the President reminded the nations to build, not to destroy. He also mentioned the country’s relations with Japan, especially ahead of peace and progress.

With our meaningful common history, the Philippines and Japan have continued to do their utmost to strengthen the foundations of peace, advance the progress of progress, and give full meaning to the promise of prosperity, he said.

Seventy-five years later, the Philippines must stand by Japan and all the peace-loving countries of the world. We remain committed to this cause. We have learned from the lessons: In their dealings with others, nations must build. Never destroy, he said.

The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
