3 new imported cases of COVID-19

There are three new COVID-19 cases to report in New Zealand today, all detected in recent returnees to isolated managed institutions. There are no new community cases.

All three cases are a man in his 30s and two children who arrived together from Dubai on September 9th. They were in isolated management at the Ibis Hotel in Rotorua and were tested positive for COVID-19 during routine testing around day 3 of their stay.

There are 56 people associated with the community group staying at the quarantine facility in Auckland, which includes 26 people who tested positive for COVID-19 and their family contacts.

As of Aug. 11, our contact tracking team has identified 3,779 close case contacts, of which 3,772 have been contacted and are isolating themselves, and we are in the process of contacting the rest.

Today there are four people in hospital with COVID-19 one is in solitary confinement in a ward at Auckland City Hospital and one is in solitary confinement in a ward in Middlemore. Two are in the ICU, in North Shore and Waikato hospitals.

With today three new cases and 16 additional cases recovered, our total number of active cases is 83.

Of these, 28 are cases imported into MIQ facilities, and 55 are community cases.

Our total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is now 1,450, which is the number we report to the World Health Organization.

Yesterday our labs processed 4,402 tests, bringing the total number of tests completed so far to 872,444.

Health worker

As reported yesterday, the case of a healthcare worker from the quarantine facility in Auckland has been genetically linked to the Auckland group.

The case is more genomically related to three cases from the group that were staying isolated in the Auckland quarantine facility. This indicates that the worker is most likely to be exposed to the virus in the institution, however a clear epidemiological link to an existing case is still being determined. The Public Health Unit is continuing to investigate how the infection occurred. A review of infection prevention and control processes is also underway.

Contacts from fitness classes, the case being followed are being evaluated by Auckland Regional Public Health staff.

There are up to 94 potential close contacts followed by the three fitness classes at Les Mills. Of that number, 72 have been confirmed as close contacts.

Of these, 71 have been contacted and are being separated and we are in the process of contacting the remaining person. Most have already been tested.

As part of the assessment, public health personnel determine which of the contacts should be self-isolated and tested.

This is done case by case. The current advice is that anyone considered a casual contact in this case is being advised to be tested, but they do not need to self-isolate unless advised to do so.

As investigations progress, individuals’ assessments as close contacts or casual contacts may change as further information is gathered and evaluated.

Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily.
