Kangana Ranaut responds to Jaya Bachchan Parliament speech: ‘Show some compassion for us too’

In a series of tweets, Kangana Ranaut has highlighted the lack of proper equipment in production houses, adding that she has a list of reforms she would like the central government to implement for young artists in the film business.

Samajwadi Party MP and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan hit actor-politician Ravi Kishan in Rajya Sabha today, according to media reports.

According toNDTV, the BJP MP had spoken about a conspiracy over drug trafficking is the place aimed at destroying the country’s youth. Kishan claimed that neighboring countries like Pakistan and China were adding fuel to the fire by smuggling medicines to India.

These comments did not go down well with Bachchan who said they could not tarnish the image of the entire industry just because of a few people.

It meant the actor was drilling holes in the plate he eats after Kishan said drug addiction continued in the film industry yesterday in parliament.

Padma Shree Price said“I was ashamed yesterday that one of the members in Lok Sabha, who is from the industry itself, spoke ill of the industry.”

Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain, ” she said referring to a popular Indian proverb which means to bite your hands to feed.

She said the entertainment industry in the country provides direct employment for 5 lakh people every day and indirect employment for 5 million people.

“At a time when the financial situation is in a depressive state and the employment rate at its worst levels, in order to divert people’s attention, we are being flogged by social media” and there is no support from the government, she said.

Bachchan said the government should step forward and support the entertainment industry.

“I hope the government will tell these people who have made their income, their name and their fame in this industry to stop using such language,” she said.

“There are people in the entertainment industry who are some of the top taxpayers (in the country). They are still being bullied,” she said.

The government, she said, needs to stay close to the entertainment industry.

“I think the government should stand by the entertainment industry because it always comes forward to help the government in every good job it gets. They come and talk about them, they support them. If there is a national disaster, they come forward. “They give their money and their services,” she said.

“I think it is very important that the government should support this industry and not kill it. Just because there are few people, you can not tarnish the image of the whole industry,” she said, adding that the industry brings international name and recognition in addition to a basis for political ambitions.

She went on to say that all sorts of promises are made to the entertainment industry, but it has never been given the right one.

“Sir, I am very hardworking and very emotional. I have a lot to say but you are not giving me enough time and opportunity,” she told Rajya Sabha Mayor M Venkaiah Naidu.

“I need protection, industry needs protection and government support,” she added.

Kangana Ranaut retweeted Bachchan’s video on Rajya Sabha, writing the opinion that the poor should be happy with what they get to change. She said there are no suitable human resource departments in production houses. She added that she has a list of reforms she would like the central government to implement to improve young artists in the film business.

Kishan had spoken about the current Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The MP from Gorakhpur said that drug addiction was also present in the film industry. He had praised the NCB and urged the central government to take strong action against the perpetrators. “Give them an appropriate punishment and put an end to this conspiracy by neighboring countries,” he said.

Kishan was represented by BJP from the Gorakhpur electorate in Uttar Pradesh during the Lok Sabha 2019 elections. He had previously competed in the Lok Sabha polls from Jaunpur with a Congress ticket but failed to win. He danced tents at BJP in 2017.
