New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the new line numbers and color codes of the three corridors of Phase IV of the subway expansion project under which the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor has been christened the ‘Silver Line’. This will be the 10th network corridor so it will also be called Line 10.

In an official announcement, the DMRC said on Twitter, “The line number and color code of the 3 Phase IV priority corridors have been set. Tughlakabad – Aerocity (line 10) will be Silver Line, Majlis Park – Maujpur (line 7) ) is Pink Line Extension & Janakpuri West – RK Ashram (line 8) is Magenta Line Extension. “

The Majlis Park Maujpur Corridor is an extension of the Pink Line and has been assigned the same color code while the Janakpuri West RK Corridor Ashram Marg has been assigned the color of Magenta as it will be just an extension of the Magenta line.
Mangu Singh, MD of the DMRC reportedly approved the new color on Wednesday. It is necessary to differentiate all Metro corridors for easy identification. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had decided to paint its corridors to help travelers easily remember the streets. There is no specific rule for setting the color code of a line.
The lines constructed under Phase 1 were all coded using primary colors, under Phase 2, secondary colors were used, and in Phase 3, a mixture of primary and secondary colors, i.e. tertiary colors, was used.
