A Frenchwoman who sent intimate photos of a man whom she met in Grindr to their families, friends and colleagues after cheating on him has been imprisoned for more than a year.

Yannick Glaudin, 31, posed as a man on the gay dating app and asked a man to send sex photos and videos during a campaign disturbing harassment. She tracked him and his boyfriend back then, sending the pictures and images to people they knew using a number of false identities.

She also contacted the police on several occasions to wrongly accuse him of assault and pedophilia, while her friends were warned that he had a bounty on his head. She fled to France and escaped justice for a year, but was sentenced to 13 months in prison at Inner London Crown Court yesterday.

At sentencing, Justice Silas Reid said that Glaudin was motivated by revenge after his first victim broke contact, describing his behavior as designed to cause maximum upset. Prosecutor John McNamara told court that in May 2017, Glaudin, using the pseudonym Steven St Pier, met his first male victim on the Grindr app.

The couple exchanged phone numbers, email addresses and even the CVs of the victims while they were looking for a job.

Mr. McNamara said: During the contact period, (the victim) sent the accused a number of personal and intimate photos and videos.

But the victim had doubts about Glaudins' true identity and ended his online contact only in December 2017.

This sparked months of harassment by Glaudin, starting with the sending of sexual images to the victim's stepfather, his friends and even friends of friends.

Glaudin, who worked as a draftsman and chief, intensified the harassment from February 2018 when his victim started a new relationship with another man.

The now ex-boyfriend friends were contacted by Glaudin, using pseudonyms such as Harry Wars and Nick Guel, on Facebook and Instagram, making false allegations about him.

In March 2018, a false report was made to Crimestoppers claiming that the boyfriend was mistreating a young boy and was related to a known prostitute, said Mr. McNamara.

On another date, a false report was made to the police pretending to be the boss of a victim, stating that he had seen minor sex videos on a laptop.

Other messages sent suggested that there was a price on the heads of friends of 1000 euros in Barcelona and London, the court said.

Photos of the first victim using the London Underground were also sent to her by email.

Meanwhile, several men seeking sex tried to visit their then shared apartment after being in contact with someone using the victim's first name.

Speaking in court, the former boyfriend said the experience was hell on earth.

I have endured the extreme shock of constant and insidious daily harassment at home, at work and on each online channel on which I was registered, by a completely anonymous person, using several aliases, he declares.

He added: The attacker personally accused me of being a pedophile, pretended to be me and my online partner via dating apps, sent several strangers to my home to request anonymous sex, followed me home and took pictures of our front door and taunted us about it. .

The court learned that after having pleaded guilty to his offenses in July 2018, Glaudin had fled to France, with a European arrest warrant subsequently issued.

Representing Glaudin, Ricky Yau said she had returned to France to see two terminally ill parents.

Mr Yau said that she believed: what I did to them is mean, cruel and stupid and I regret it.

At sentencing, Reid J. asked why Glaudin had not faced more serious charges than those laid by the charge.

It is difficult to understand why you did what you did except that during the period of your offense, you were consumed by jealousy and the desire for revenge, he told Glaudin.

He said his disturbing harassment campaign saw him ignore victims' calls to stop and use fake social media accounts to sneak into their circle of friends to follow their lives .

Glaudin, who has not been convicted before, was sentenced to 12 months for leaking photos and private sex movies with intent to cause distress, four months for a non-violent harassment leader and four months for harassment without fear, alarm or distress.

These will be served simultaneously, and an additional sentence of one month for breach of bail will be served consecutively.

Glaudin, who listened to the proceedings through an interpreter, is also subject to a non-life prosecution order preventing him from contacting his victims and others.

Kathryn Iyer, Senior Crown Prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said: This was a sustained and frightening harassment campaign against an innocent young couple.

She added: The CPS takes harassment and harassment very seriously and will prosecute culprits where there is evidence to do so.
