Days after the BJP made five former Congressional MLAs in Gujarat polls, Congress on Sunday accused the saffron party of luring lawmakers into the state through monetary or other fraud and demanded a judicial inquiry into it.
Congressional spokesman Abhishek Singhvi cited interviews with three former Congressional MLAs who joined the BJP earlier this year after resigning as lawmakers, to claim that the BJP had offered them monetary or other incentives to withdraw on their side. They have been submitted by the BJP to Gujarat for polls in their respective Assembly seats.
Mr Singhvi claimed that Akshay Patel, Pradyumnsinh Jadeja and JV Kakadiya – who had joined the BJP in June this year after resigning from Congress – had allegedly admitted on camera that they had been offered incentives to change.
“The legislature, it is clear from this evidence, has become a hostage, a business game for BJP, which aggressively indulges in 3T – Trading, Trafficking and Transaction with MLAs and lawmakers,” Mr Singhvi said.
Five of the eight congressmen who have resigned have received tickets to the upcoming suburbs, he stressed.
Speaking of Mr Patel, Mr Singhvi said, “The question at all is not whether he accepted it or took the bribe or not. Obviously, those who speak have denied it. The issue is the true color of the provider, the true moral constitution and the legal level, the political level at which the provider operates, namely the BJP. “
“The real issue is the unlimited capacity of this party to offer money. I repeat – the unlimited capacity, which only coincides with their unbridled greed for power with crochet or cheats, more with cheaters, more a little crocheted, “he said.
“BJP ensures that the elections that the mandate, which is the constitutional, democratic mandate is actually a mandate of only 2 or 3 years, It is limited, interrupted, prevented for 2-3 years by the ‘A’ amount of big money, ‘B’ a large number of resignations, ‘C’, re-offering of ministries and ‘D’, offering MLA tickets, “he claimed.
This is the political morality practiced by the ruling party in the Center and in the state of Gujarat, he said.
“You (BJP) create an artificial majority, an artificial majority is a denial of democracy, which works with a majority, a real majority, and you do it with the naked use of monetary energy,” he said.
He said Congress wants a High Court High Court judge to investigate this or at least a High Court President sitting at a minimum.
There should be an immediate registration of a Law on Corruption Prevention, FIR and relevant sections of Indian criminal codes on the criminal sides, he said.
