Malta welcomes rescued migrants despite ban on coronaviruses
VALLETTA – A group of North African migrants rescued from a shattered boat landed in Malta early Friday, hours after the government said no other group would be allowed in after its ports were closed due to the urgency of the coronavirus.
The 64 migrants were rescued by the Maltese armed forces from a boat inside the Malta rescue area in the south of the island and brought ashore.
