Tahir Hussain, suspended leader of the AAP, arrested after the rejection of his appeal
New Delhi | Jagran Press Office: Expelled Aam Aadmi Party Adviser Tahir Hussain Accused of Murder of Intelligence Bureau Agent Ankit Sharma During Communal Riots in Northeast Delhi Last Week, Arrested by Police on Thursday after the court dismissed his appeal. Tahir Hussain went to court on Rouse Avenue in Delhi today. He will now be presented to the Karkardooma court after his medical formalities. He has fled since the police filed a complaint against him for murder.
Meanwhile, the The Karkardooma court also rejected his early bail plea. The court observed that no one appeared on the side of the accused.
Earlier in the day, Hussain, through his lawyer Mukesh Kalia, made a plea of surrender to the head of the Metropolitan Chief Judge (ACMM) Vishal Pahuja.

His lawyer, Mukesh Kalia, quoted by the news agency ANI, said that he had decided to go to court and that he was going to court. "He is on his way to Rouse Avenue Court (Delhi) to surrender. If he arrives at the Court without being arrested in the meantime, he will go here to court".
Delhi police on February 27 filed an FIR against Hussain on his alleged involvement in the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) agent Ankit Sharma, whose body was found in a sewer in the Chand Bagh region. The FIR was based on the complaint of Ankit Sharma's father, Ravinder Kumar, who allegedly Tahir Hussains' involvement in the murder of his son. He also had said his son was attacked on his way back from work.
Shortly after the FIR's registration against him, the Aam Aadmi party also suspended Tahir from being a senior member of the party until the investigation was completed.
However, Tahir Hussain repeatedly walked away from the incitement to violence and claimed that his innocence stated that he was preventing people from going up to his building to use it for illicit ends. Hussain also ignored allegations related to the death of IB staff member Ankit Sharma and said: I learned from reports that I was charged with the murder of a man. These are baseless lies and accusations. "

At least 47 people, including a police chief and Sharma, died, while around 400 people were seriously injured in the three-day violence that raged in northeast Delhi.
