Anjali Bharadwaj, an Indian social activist working on issues of transparency and accountability, is one of 12 “brave” individuals nominated by the Biden administration for the newly established International Anti-Corruption Champions Award.

According to the State Department, Bhardwaj, 48, has served as an active member of the Information Rights Movement in India for more than two decades.

“The Biden administration acknowledges that we will be successful in tackling these issues only by working in partnership with committed partners, including courageous individuals supporting anti-corruption efforts and countries working to meet their commitments to standards. International Anti-Corruption Agency, “US Secretary of State Tony Blinken said on Tuesday.

For that reason, I am announcing a new International Anti-Corruption Champions Award, recognizing individuals who have worked tirelessly, often in the face of adversity, to protect transparency, fight corruption, and ensure accountability in countries them, he said.

Bharadwaj is the founder of Satark Nagrik Sangathan (SNS), a group of citizens with a mandate to promote transparency and accountability in government and to encourage active citizen participation.

She is also a caller to the National Campaign for the Right to Information, which successfully advocated the creation of an anti-corruption ombudsman and the Blowers’ Protection Act, providing protection for those exposing corruption and abuse of power.

Bharadwaj in a tweet said the honor is a “recognition of the collective effort of people and groups across the country who bear the responsibility of power.

Besides Bharadwaj, other honors are: Ardian Dvorani of Albania, Diana Salazar of Ecuador, Sophia Pretrick of Micronesia, Juan Francisco Sandoval Alfaro of Guatemala, Ibrahima Kalil Gueye of Guinea, Dhuha A Mohammed of Iraq, Bolot Temirov of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mustafa Abdullah Sanalla from Libya, Victor Sotto from the Philippines, Francis Ben Kaifala from Sierra Leone and Ruslan Ryaboshapka from Ukraine.

“They inspire us and so many of their counterparts to pursue these ideals around the world. The United States implements one of the most powerful anti-corruption frameworks in the world,” Blinken said.

The US, he said, was the first to criminalize foreign bribery and, in partnership with foreign counterparts, has recovered and returned more than $ 1 billion in stolen public assets in the last two years alone.

We use a range of tools to promote accountability for corrupt individuals, to fight impunity globally, and to engage in multilateral forums to fight corruption and strengthen citizen engagement, Blinken said.

The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
