More showers to follow in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi today too

In the past 24 hours, northwestern India, particularly many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and the NCR and Uttar Pradesh, has received fairly widespread rains and thunderstorms. One or two locations also received hailstorms.

In the past 24 hours, while Ambala has received 23 mm of rain, Hisar 38 mm, Sri Ganganagar 8 mm and Fursatganj have recorded 6 mm of rain. Even the national capital, New Delhi, has recorded good rain of 22 mm in the past 24 hours.

However, we expect light to moderate showers also to continue today in the northern districts of Punjab and Haryana. The intensity of the rain and thunderstorms will remain more over the western parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Any significant rain activity in the southern districts of Punjab, Haryana, northern Rajasthan and the NCR of Delhi is excluded at this time. However, there may be isolated patches of rain and thunderstorms in the late afternoon or evening, as the water content is currently very high.
