Prime Minister Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadi Pariyojana on Saturday and said that Jan Aushadhi Day is not just a day to celebrate a program, but an opportunity to connect with millions of people. ; Indians and millions of families who benefited from it.
He also said that 6,200 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are operational across the country, in which 900 types of drugs and 154 surgical instruments are available.

March 7 is celebrated as the day of Jan Aushadhi. The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a campaign launched by the Pharmaceuticals Department to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses.
The Jan Aushadi Kendras or PMBJP stores were created to supply generic drugs, available at lower prices but equivalent in quality and effectiveness to expensive brand name drugs.
