Sioux Falls, SD (KELO) —A Monday update from the South Dakota Department of Health has slightly increased active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
The death toll from COVID-19 in South Dakota remains at 2,030.
A total of 20 new cases have been reported. The total number of cases in the state increased from Friday’s report (124,492) to 124,512.
Currently, there are 174 active cases, up from Friday (170).
The current hospitalization for the virus is 21 compared to Friday (15). The total number of hospitalizations for the entire pandemic is currently 6,851.
The total number of cases recovered increased from Friday (122,292) to 122,308.
The total number of people who failed the test increased from Friday (363,141) to 363,415.
The data reported on Friday showed 294 new people tested, with a positive rate of 6.8% tested by the new people. The latest 7-day PCR test positive rate reported by DOH is 2.4%. The latest daily PCR positive rate is 2.1%.
There are 170 confirmed cases of B.1.1.7 reported in South Dakota. The number of other variants includes 15 cases of B.1.429 and 3 cases of P.1, 2 cases of B.1.351 subspecies and 1 case of B.1.427 have been reported.
As of Monday, 56.61% of the population over the age of 12 had at least one vaccination and 52.19% had completed a series of vaccinations.
The Pfizer vaccine has been given 367,758 times, the Modana vaccine has been given 295,843 times, and the Janssen vaccine has been given 22,350 times.
There are 143,413 people who have completed two doses of Moderna and 176,059 who have received two doses of Pfizer.
