Chicago Adds Missouri and Arkansas to Travel Recommendations | Coronavirus
Chicago — This week, Missouri and Arkansas were added to Chicago’s emergency travel orders, and the surge in delta variants in certain parts of the United States lifted the week-long series of no travel restrictions in the city.
According to a Tuesday news release from the Chicago Public Health Service, unvaccinated travelers returning to Chicago currently have to comply with quarantine or COVID-19 testing requirements in only two states.
The list is updated every two weeks and the new state limits take effect on Friday.
“The COVID-19 pandemic isn’t over. It just shows that the virus is still a very threat and we all have to stay vigilant against it,” the city’s public said. Dr. Alison Alwadi, a health commissioner, said: statement. “That means if you’re not completely vaccinated, you’ll be vaccinated in public and wear a mask.”
Since the beginning of June, no state has been on the city’s COVID-19 travel restriction list, as the pandemic appeared to be declining in the United States thanks to vaccination.
