County Promotes Immunization As COVID Cases Increase | Green County
Catskill — COVID cases continue in Greene County as the Greene County Public Health Department continues to promote vaccination of unvaccinated individuals.
Greene County Public Health reported 13 active positive cases on Monday, an increase of 4 cases from Saturday. The county has 43 quarantine residents, with an additional 13 starting Friday. The county’s 7-day positive rate is 2.4%.
The department said on Facebook that the lab was randomly testing samples of the delta variant of the virus and had not yet received confirmation that the variant was present. However, according to public health, the mutant is probably present.
As of July 17, the county has been considered by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to be at moderate risk of community transmission.
The department continues to list locations in the county where free walk-in vaccines are available, such as Catskill, Cairo, and Greenville pharmacies. If at home, the ministry said it could plan home vaccination visits on request.
