Children Wearing Ventilators Due to Coronavirus-Related Syndrome | Kentucky Coronavirus
Frankfort-A 10-year-old child in Kentucky was ventilated while fighting complications related to the coronavirus, state officials said Monday.
Governor Andy Beshear suspended his daily account of the outbreak of the coronavirus for a period of silence for young people. Authorities said the Kentucky child had a new syndrome associated with COVID-19 and was the only case that could affect the child.
“I don’t want to be sensational about this,” said Dr. Stephen Stack, a public health commissioner in Kentucky. “I’m a fact and I want to be in the middle as much as possible. It’s serious for children with this syndrome. The young patients we are in Kentucky are very ill at this point.”

Beshear reported nearly 250 cases of coronavirus in Kentucky over the past two days, increasing the total to more than 6,670 cases across the state. The governor noted that almost half of the cases involved people under the age of fifty. He said more than 2,330 people in Kentucky had recovered from the virus. But 220 of the Kentucky virus cases are in the intensive care unit, he said.
The Governor of the Democratic Party also turned to the state’s COVID-19 website for information on Kentucky citizens and urged them not to rely on false information coming from several online sites.
“It’s issued by people who don’t believe the virus is genuine,” he said. “But to be honest, much of what’s now on social media is created by other countries in a way that tries to destabilize us.”
