Pregnant and lactating women rarely get a medical exemption from the COVID vaccine, doctors say.

Cincinnati (WXIX)-Pregnant or lactating women are rarely granted a medical exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine, said Dr. Andre Harris, Chief Medical Officer at the Atrium Medical Center.
Dr. Harris said his OBGYN practice received a call from a patient requesting a tax exemption, as some companies announced mandatory vaccines.
There are several scenarios where tax exemption is required, but he said he generally recommends vaccination of patients.
“I think there were some mothers who had already been vaccinated,” said Dr. Harris. “You can see where your concerns come from, because there is a lot of uncertainty,” Is this safe for me and my baby? ” “
Dr. Harris said he recommends vaccination of patients because any infectious disease, including COVID-19, can cause complications of pregnancy.
