The Marburg outbreak occurred in the same area (Guéckédou), and the EVD outbreak was contained five months later and was declared on June 19, 2021. Outbreak of Ebola virus disease, Côte d’Ivoire
On August 14, 2021, the Ministry of Health, Public Health and Universal Insurance reported a positive case of Ebola virus disease (EVD) in the commercial capital of Abidjan from the Pasteur Institute in Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea.
The proband was an 18-year-old girl of Guinean nationality who left the Guinean labe for Abidjan. After a five-day trip, she arrived in Côte d’Ivoire on August 11, 2021 and was hospitalized for treatment on August 12, 2021 with symptoms of fever.
