Wisconsin COVID-19 deaths exceed 7,500

Madison, Wisconsin (WBAY)-COVID-19, Wisconsin has killed more than 7,500 people, the Department of Health Services (DHS) reported Thursday. In Wisconsin, there have been nearly 643,000 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus (642,969) since it first appeared in the state in February 2020. The state has averaged 1,223 new cases daily over the past seven days, according to a DHS report. State figures show that 113 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since Wednesday’s report. This is the third consecutive day of over 100 hospitalizations, with the exception of Monday, which aggregates the entire weekend. DHS reported on Wednesday that 12 of the 72 counties in Wisconsin had significantly higher levels of viral activity compared to 4 counties a week ago.
