The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease is full of flowers, each carried by someone who has promised to end the disease and those who love them.

Each registered participant walks through the National Mall with flowers from the Promise Garden. The color represents a relationship with the disease, showing a wide range of effects not only on people affected by Alzheimer’s disease, but also on families, loved ones and communities.

• Blue Represents a person who lives with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia
• Purple For those who have lost someone due to illness.
• yellow Represents a person who is currently supporting or caring for someone who lives with Alzheimer’s disease.
• Orange For those who support the vision of the world’s cause and association free of Alzheimer’s disease and all other dementia.

Participants are raising funding and awareness for breakthroughs in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and all other dementias. All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer are tax deductible for Alzheimer’s Association care, support, research activities and donations.

Walk-to-End Alzheimer’s Disease will take place on Saturday, October 9th in Washington, DC. Registration begins at 8 am and the ceremony begins at 9:30 am and continues thereafter. The walk is 1-2 miles.
