La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW)-The Gandersen Health System offers a one-stop purchase for both a third dose of the COVID vaccine and a seasonal flu shot.
Selected and eligible patients can receive both influenza vaccination and a third dose of COVID vaccine on the same appointment. The vaccines are given at the same time, but in separate arms.
Gundersen people say that getting a flu shot is also important to keep the public and yourself safe. “I think it’s even more important this year just because I was wearing a mask last year, which reduced the overall reason,” said clinical manager Sherry Needfeld. “It’s very important to get a flu shot this year as well, as there is usually a surge in the next year after a few years of flu.”
You do not have to go to the same Gundersen location where you received your first and second doses to get a third dose of the COVID vaccine along with your flu shot.
