Covid survivors return to hospital to apologize for not being vaccinated
The man who barely survived COVID-19 I returned to the hospital where he saved his life to convey a heartfelt message.

Solis spent 28 days in Harbor View from August to September, treated with a deadly virus and put on a ventilator. When hospital staff first asked him if he had been vaccinated, Solis said he was embarrassed to say no.
But when Solis returned to Harbor View in good health in October, doctors weren’t ashamed of his decision.

Solis says he is still slowly recovering from the virus. His lungs are hurt and he easily winds – but he is alive.
“We never see people get so good,” said Nurse Siebens. “So it’s great. It definitely feels worth it.”
In addition to thanking the hospital, Solis says he has a message to Covid skeptics.
“This virus is real, so go get vaccinated,” he said. “It’s real enough to take someone’s life or put it in the ICU.”
