COVID-19 virus detected in five Ontario deer: officials
5 deer COVID-19 (new coronavirus infection), The Ministry of Natural Resources of Ontario said.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the ministry said samples were collected from five free-range white-tailed deer in southwestern Ontario in November.
According to the ministry, deer have been tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

The ministry said COVID-19 is still “a disease of primary human interest” and “usually spreads from human to human.”
The ministry said there was “currently no evidence” that COVID-19 could be obtained from foods that “contain hunting meat.”
