The State Department reported on Sunday the smallest increase in COVID-19 cases since 28 December.

The 12,333 new outbreaks included 254 in Valley County, the 16th in seven days, at least in the Valley. The total was at least 355 in the region, ending for five consecutive days.

COVID-19 hospitalizations across the state continued to decline on Sunday, with 195 fewer patients being treated for the virus. From December 27th to January 14th, hospitalizations surged by 3,157. Since January 15, the number has decreased by 1,177.

All 67 counties in Pennsylvania continued to have a high community of this disease on Saturday. This means at least 100 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 7 days.

The number of patients hospitalized locally on Sunday was 184, an increase of one to Gaisinger and Gaisinger Shamokin in Danville.

Gaisinger in Danville had 128 patients, Gaisinger Shamokin had 21 patients, and Lewisburg’s Evangelical Community Hospital had 35 patients.

On Gaisinger’s main campus in Danville, there were 32 patients in the ICU (down 5 from Saturday’s report) and an increase of 23 on ventilator. There were seven Shamokins in the ICU.

At evangelical, there were 9 patients in the ICU and 1 patient on the ventilator. This is the same number reported on Saturday.

At Gaisinger, 293 of the 365 COVID patients admitted to the system were unvaccinated throughout the system. Of the 72 fully vaccinated, 51 had not been injected in the last 180 days. Of the 70 COVID patients treated by Geisinger in the ICU, 61 have not been fully vaccinated and 8 of the 9 fully vaccinated have not been injected in the last 180 days. It was. Forty-one of the 45 patients on Geisinger ventilator were not fully vaccinated, and four vaccinated had not been injected within at least 180 days.

Prisons, state facilities

There were 16 prisoner cases and 1 employee case at USP Allenwood, the same number reported on Saturday.

According to the State Corrections Bureau (DOC), there were 34 prisoner cases and 41 employee cases at the state correctional facility in Coal Township. Across the state, there were 1,608 prisoners and 801 personnel, the same number reported on Saturday. They increased by 213 to match Saturday.

The Serins Grove State Center has 44 staff cases and 8 resident cases, the same numbers reported by the State Human Services Department on Saturday. Danville State Hospital has 16 staff cases and 8 client cases, an increase of at least 4 client cases. No cases of adolescents have been reported in boys or girls in the North Central Secure Treatment Unit. There were less than 5 staff infections in the female unit and no staff cases in the male unit.
