PEI announced on Monday two new deaths and nine hospitalizations related to COVID-19
Prince Edward Island announced on Monday two new deaths related to COVID-19. Two people between the ages of 60 and 79 are involved in this.
“I was sad to know that two more people died in connection with COVID-19,” said Dr. Heather Morrison, PEI’s Chief Public Health Officer.
“We would like to express our deepest condolences to our families and loved ones who are saddened by the loss of these individuals.”
To respect the privacy of the family, Morrison states that details of these deaths will not be released at this time.
Case count
Morrison announced 157 new cases of COVID-19 and 219 recovery, with a total of 2,422 active cases as of 8:00 am on Monday, January 24th.
According to Morrison, the new case is still under investigation.

According to public health, hospitals receiving COVID-19 treatment have nine people, including two in the intensive care unit.
Two other people are positive in the hospital but are being treated for illnesses other than COVID-19 (COVID-19 was not the reason for hospitalization).
