British Columbia Health Authority Offers First Live COVID Update After Strategic Change
About 1,000 people were hospitalized in BC COVID As Omicron Variants continue to grow exponentially.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, British Columbia Health Officer, and Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, will provide updates at 3:00 pm after the first announcement that the pandemic will be held at 1:30 pm.

An additional 63 people were admitted to the hospital over the weekend, but some good news is that the number of people in the intensive care unit has dropped by one to 129.
Global News found that 51 ICUs were unvaccinated, including 3 under the age of 19.
Sadly, another 24 people died from the complications of the virus, bringing the total to 2,553 since the pandemic began.
BC further identified 4,997 new cases, but due to limited testing, the daily new number of cases is no longer considered an accurate measure of COVID-19 spread.
Currently, there are 31,822 virus activity cases in the state, the lowest since January 6.
BC’s top doctors have shown a major shift in COVID strategy, saying contact tracing is no longer useful.
In a previous live briefing, Henry made a big change in how the state handles COVID-19, and everyone should assume that they are in close contact and contact tracing is no longer effective. Said.
Due to the Omicron variant, Henry said the state treats COVID like a common cold.
