Beijing authorities have blocked several residential areas in the northern part of the city after the discovery of two cases of COVID-19. Residents of Chaoyang District will be closed on Saturday and will not be allowed to leave their premises.

Beijing is on the alert as it prepares to host the Olympic Games on Friday. The city has also set up 19 points in the area to test residents daily until Friday.

A total of 12 cases have been reported in the capital over the past 24 hours, including people who have already undergone some pandemic measures, disease response officials said in a briefing. The city conducted multiple tests last week on millions of residents.

The Marion County Public Health Service has released a list of current COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites as it continues to provide services to interested parties free of charge.

MCPHD operates one COVID-19 test site. This is 3838 N. Rural St, just north of 38th Street on the northeast side of Indianapolis. It is a drive-through clinic in. The site is currently open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The clinic only offers PCR tests.

MCPHD offers COVID-19 vaccines at health centers in the area, ACTION Health Center, and three other locations in Marion County.

The highly contagious Omicron variant of coronavirus increases daily American deaths more than last fall’s delta wave. Deaths can continue to increase for days or even weeks.

The 7-day moving average of daily new COVID-19 deaths in the United States has risen since mid-November. It reached 2,267 on Thursday. This is above the September peak of 2,100, when Delta was the predominant variant. Omicron is now estimated to account for almost all viruses prevalent in the country.
