NB COVID-19 Summary: 4 additional deaths reported on Saturday
Health officials in New Brunswick reported on Saturday that four more people died in connection with COVID-19.
According to the state online DashboardDeath includes:
- People in their 70s in the Moncton area (Zone 1)
- Two people in their 80s in the Moncton region (Zone 1)
- People over 90 in the Edmundston region (Zone 4)
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 286 deaths associated with COVID-19 reported in New Brunswick.
According to the state, 53.68% of deaths are partial or unvaccinated people, 46.32% are “protected” and public health defines additional or complete vaccination for less than 6 months. ..

According to the state online DashboardAs of Saturday, a total of 122 people were hospitalized, a decrease of 13 from Friday.
Of the inpatients, 59 were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 63 were hospitalized for other reasons, but tested positive for the virus.
On Saturday, 14 people are receiving intensive care with COVID-19. Of these, 10 patients were admitted to the unit because of the virus, and 4 were admitted for other reasons, but tested positive for COVID-19.
Currently, eight people in New Brunswick are using ventilators.
New case
There was a new PCR-confirmed case of 303 COVID-19 reported on Saturday in New Brunswick.
Authorities also reported 477 new cases using rapid testing.
The breakdown of new PCR confirmed cases by health zone is as follows.
- Zone 1 – Moncton Region – 133 new cases
- Zone 2-St. John Region-45 new cases
- Zone 3 – Fredericton Region – 50 new cases
- Zone 4 – Edmanston Region – 22 new cases
- Zone 5 – Campbellton Region – 5 new cases
- Zone 6 – Bassert Region – 34 new cases
- Zone 7 – Miramichi Region – 14 new cases

As of Saturday, there were a total of 341 healthcare workers who tested positive for COVID-19 and were isolated.

Vaccination renewal
As of Saturday, 92.5% of Newbrands Wickers received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 85.8% received two vaccinations, and 47.6% received boosters.
In New Brunswick, a total of 1,696,210 doses of vaccine were given.
