Gainesville, Florida (WCJB)-February is National Cardiac Month, so two experts in adult cardiology and pediatrics will discuss the effects of COVID-19 on the heart.
Dr. Charles Clodel is Chief of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the North Florida Regional Medical Center. He states that when infected with COVID, the condition of the heart can cause serious symptoms.

Symptoms of the syndrome include heart complications and enlargement of the coronary arteries. UF Healthshans officials are waiting for children to begin hospitalization for the syndrome in the coming weeks as the surge in highly contagious Omicrons has peaked.
