Covid-19 moving from a pandemic to endemic

According to Mesa County Public Health, if disease growth ceases to be exponential in a region, the pandemic will transition to endemic. She also says that endemic outbreaks and seasonal fluctuations may still be seen.
“When Covid-19 is declared endemic, it doesn’t mean it’s gone, it just turns into what we live with, as in the case of malaria.”
The decision on whether a pandemic will transition to endemic will be made by the World Health Organization, the CDC, and the Colorado Department of Health.
“What we now know is that Covid-19’s case level, hospitalization level, and mortality rate are dramatically lower than before and are on a downward trend.”
