Two new deaths from COVID-19 and 238 new cases reported in the last three days in Oregon

Large number of daily cases

On Friday, the number of COVID-19 cases was the third highest per day since the onset of a pandemic in Oregon, with 97 estimated and confirmed cases reported to OHA. This has reported a total of 238 cases over the last 3 days.

Higher numbers are associated with several factors, including wider test availability, increased contact tracking, and active monitoring of intimate contact in the case. The number of households associated with confirmed cases is increasing.

Despite the large number of cases, the overall infection rate remains the lowest in the United States, the OHA reports.

“But the increase in the number of cases means that Oregons need to maintain physical distance, wear face covers in places where physical distance cannot be maintained, avoid large gatherings, and protect hand hygiene. It reminds me,” officials said.
