COVID-19 W.Va. | 10 more dead, 664 new reports

Charleston, W.Va.. (WSAZ)-As of March 14, 2022, there were 1,244 active COVID-19 cases across the state, as reported by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).

Since the last report, 10 deaths have been reported, with a total of 6,559 * deaths due to COVID-19.

The previously reported death of a 47-year-old woman from Kanawa County in December 2020 was determined not to be a COVID-19-related death. Removing this death reduces the cumulative number of deaths by one.

DHHR confirmed the deaths of a 58-year-old woman in Cabell County, an 81-year-old woman in Monongalia County, a 61-year-old man in Preston County, an 89-year-old man in Lewis County, and a 60-year-old woman. An old man in Cabell County, a 78-year-old man in Cabell County, an 82-year-old woman in Lewis County, an 87-year-old woman in Lewis County, a 79-year-old man in Taylor County, and a 1-year-old man from 90-Monongalia County.

The map of the county warning system that tracks the infection rate is green and two counties are expected.

The 53 counties are color coded green, indicating low infection rates. One county is gold and the other is yellow.

As of Monday, 272 COVID-19-positive West Virginia residents were hospitalized, 74 were hospitalized in the ICU, and 44 were on ventilator.

The hospital has 7 pediatric patients with COVID-19 complications.

487,736 West Virginia residents have recovered from COVID-19 symptoms.

According to DHHR, there are 12,978 reported Delta COVID-19 variants and 1,888 reported Omicron variants.
