South Sioux City-Saturday was a good day for Dakota County as no new COVID-19 infections or virus deaths were recorded. The neighboring Woodbury County also had 37 new infections, but no new deaths were reported.

Daily tally of new infections is slower in Sioux City Metro compared to the April and May days when hundreds of new infections were reported.

Of the 2,900 known COVID-19 infections in Woodbury County, the majority (2,110) have recovered. 37 deaths have been recorded, according to Suland District Health Department.

Of the 1,708 known infections in Dakota County, about 971 have been recovered, according to data from the Dakota County Department of Health.

New COVID-19 infections were recorded in other counties in northwestern Iowa, but no more than 45 counties.

Buena Vista County currently has 1,112 infections. Crawford has 567. Sioux County has 311 counties. There are 155 people in Plymouth. O’Brien and Cherokee have 46 each. Dickinson has 41. Suck has 30. Clay has 29. Monona has 27. There are 25 people in Lyon.

In Southeast South Dakota, Union County has 92 infections, Yankton has 53 infections, and Clay has 27 infections.

In Northeast Nebraska, only Wayne and Thurston count new cases-Thurston now has 121 and Wayne has 25.
