When orally administered to male mice for 4 weeks, the researchers reported that YCT529 was 99% effective in preventing pregnancy by significantly reducing sperm count and causing no detectable side effects.
Studies show that male mice may become puppy fathers again 4-6 weeks after discontinuing compound administration.
According to Georg, YCT529 will begin trials in human clinical trials in the third or fourth quarter of 2022.
