Latest update
8:40 am – Students who returned to the classroom by nearly 30% BC
Nearly 30% BC School children received in-class instruction last week BC. The government reopened the school for the first time because classes were suspended two months ago due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The school opened last Monday part-time and optionally from kindergarten to grade 12, but online learning will continue for the last four weeks of the year.
Under the BC School Reopening Plan, students from kindergarten to grade 5 can attend half a day (every other day, etc.), but from grade 6 to grade 12 students can attend one lesson a week.
In total, over 157,000 students have returned to the classroom.
He said a partial return for the last four weeks of the school year would allow staff to prepare for the fall and spend some fine-tuning of the summer on how it would work.
The minister expects students to combine both in-class and online instruction until the 2020-21 school year begins in September and the pandemic ends.
Schedules were offset, desks were placed away from each other, and hand sanitizer stations were installed throughout the school to ensure physical distance.
Breaks and lunch breaks are also staggered, similar to the disembarkation of students by parents not allowed at school.
8:15 a.m. – Increasing Claims: Pandemic Litigation May Hold Court For Years
According to litigation counsel, lawsuits involving senior citizen homes, airlines, universities, and ticket providers affected by COVID-19 can hold Canadian courts for years.
Michael Smith, a partner at Bennett Jones LLP in Toronto, says he is tracking all class action claims proposed in connection with the pandemic.
From the end of March to June 1, the company recorded 19 lawsuits in such Canada.
“What you’ll find in COVID is the broad sector in which it’s involved,” Smith said in an interview.
“Many industries are affected at the same time. COVID-related lawsuits have been in court for years.”
Nursing home residents are particularly infected with the new coronavirus.
The Canadian Army last month issued a report detailing the terrible situation at many sanatoriums in which Ontario and Quebec troops are deployed. Allegations include illegally dumped residents and staff members who fail to quarantine people who test positive for the virus.
Several lawsuits have been filed alleging negligence in treating COVID-19 in long-term care.

One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
