COVAX, African Union refuses to buy more doses of Moderna’s COVID shots

April 5 (Reuters)-COVAX, a global project to share the COVID-19 vaccine, and the African Union have rejected the option to purchase additional doses of Moderna. (MRNA.O) I was shot because developing countries are having a hard time allocating supplies.

COVAX has increased its supply pace after struggling to get shots last year, delivering approximately 1.4 billion doses to 144 countries as of April 1.
However, as supply and donations surge, some poor countries face hurdles such as a shortage of cold chains, hesitation in vaccines, and lack of funding to support distribution networks.
“We are talking to the manufacturer … to match the size and timing of the country’s needs,” a Gavi spokeswoman said.
