Poultry show, general sales stopped due to outbreak of bird flu
RALEIGH-State Veterinarian Mike Martin announced all North Carolina poultry shows on Tuesday, and public sales will be suspended due to the threat of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

This type of HPAI virus is considered low risk to people, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. So far, this HPAI strain has never infected humans.
