- Avoid parks and other places with waterfowl.
- Do not share the device. Regularly disinfect equipment that comes into contact with poultry.
- Do not attract wild birds. Remove the wild bird feeding box.
- Feed the birds in the hut. Clean spilled feed and remove accumulated water.
- Monitor the herd for signs of HPAI
How to Report HPAI Death in Birds
- Report any suspected poultry illness events to the State Veterinary Department at 303-869-9130.
- If there are sick or unexplained birds, the CSU will provide assistance at the Colorado Bird Health Call Line (970-297-4008).
- For dead poultry, submit a free HPAI test to the CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Institute in Fort Collins: 970-297-4008 or 970-297-1281.
