Atlanta — More than 13,500 Georgians died in COVID-19 Even if the majority of the population has been vaccinated, it is still alive, According to a new study. This represents more than half of the deaths from COVID-19 in Georgia.
Researchers at Harvard, Brown, and Microsoft have released new data on preventable deaths with state-specific vaccines.

The data examined peak immunization rates in each state and created an alternative scenario in which immunization rates continued at the same level until all adults in the state were immunized. The study then provided estimates of “preventable deaths with vaccines that would have been avoided in each state.”
At least 25,737 people have died from the virus in Georgia.
