Free COVID test kit available from Bay County Health Department
Bay City, Michigan-In response to the increase in COVID-19 cases over the past three weeks, the Bay County Health Department has announced that it will offer a free test kit.
Starting Monday, May 16th, free rapid antigen testing will be available at the Bay County Health Department building at 1200 Washington Avenue in downtown Bay City. Inspections can be taken during normal business hours and no reservations are required.

MLive Previously reported In Bay County, the number of new cases increased for 7 days, with 124 cases reported between April 28 and May 4, and up to 191 cases reported between May 5 and 11. BCHD also reminds residents that vaccination and masking are important as the number of cases increases.

Wearing a mask is important to protect yourself and others from COVID-19, “said the Health Department statement. “Vaccination is the best way to protect people from COVID and is a precautionary measure to reduce the severity of illness, hospitalization and even the risk of death.”
BCHD recommends upgrading the mask to a high filtration respirator like the KN95 for ideal protection. Free KN95 masks are now available throughout Michigan as part of the state’s Mask Up and Mask Right campaigns.
