Studies show that about 1.5 million Australians will die of cancer in the 25 years from 2020 to 2044.

Almost 1.5 million Australians cancer Over the 25 years from 2020 to 2044, new research by the Cancer Council NSW Narcissus Center and the University of Sydney is presented.

Studies published in Lancet Public HealthClaimed that 1.45 million people would die “without major new government investment in prevention, early detection and patient care.”

He also said that more than 4.56 million cases of cancer were diagnosed during the same period.

Professor Karen Canfell, director of the Narcissus Center and chair of the Cancer Screening and Immunization Committee of the Cancer Council, said the study highlights the need for more research and an extensive screening program.

“Each of the 4.56 million individuals who may develop cancer in the future is an important member of our community,” she said.

“Research is needed to support new breakthroughs in prevention, treatment and care. Further investment is needed to gain access to the most effective existing approaches, such as national screening programs.”

It is estimated that 1.45 million people will die, a decrease of about 20% compared to the previous 25 years when the mortality rate was 30%.

“Mortality is expected to decline at varying rates in most cancers, except for some cancers, which are expected to be relatively stable or increase,” Canfell added.

“This predicted overall reduction in cancer mortality is positive, but we know that a 20% reduction over the next 25 years is not enough.

“We could significantly improve these results and save hundreds of thousands of the 1.45 million lives expected to be lost.

The cancers with the most rapid declines in mortality are lung cancer and melanoma.

This is mainly due to preventative measures such as tobacco control and skin protection and better treatment.
